The Process
Choose a stone
Flatten your round wire, using the roller mill, into a bezel, between 26-30 gauge
Anneal the bezel
Put one end of the bezel into a vise and pull it straight with long handled pliers
Cut both ends of the bezel off to make make them square, using bezel shears or scissors
Wrap the bezel around the stone
Make sure there are no gaps between bezel and stone, then mark the bezel at its overlap and cut off unneeded end
Make sure the bezel edges are straight and free of boogars
Use medium solder to solder bezel edges together
Flatten base-plate and bezel, as needed, so there is no gap between them
Place bezel on base-plate (use boric acid and flux)
Boil your Flux, only till it turns white and krusty
Put easy solder in the corner around the inside of the bezel wall on the base-plate
Heat the project from the bottom of the base-plate until the solder melts and secures the bezel to the base-plate with no gaps
